mall gig <3

I hope your Valentine Week is coming along well for you, too 🙂 Maybe because Valentines this year is on a weekday, that’s why most people are intentionally stretching it towards the same weekend. Well, Who wouldnt want more love right? 🙂

On the other hand, the previous weekend had been a really fun treat for me. I had the chance to write something for Valentine’s at SM City – Cabanatuan 🙂

Being the one from Nueva Ecija, can I first just share a fun trivia  about this SM we have here? Haha. SM City Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija is the largest SM Mall in the whole of Luzon, that is, outside of Metro Manila. So should be fun to roam around 🙂  (If you have been in the Philippines, you will know that Malls are where most people spend perhaps 90% of recreation life.  THAT much =)) And, If you  live like a probinsyana like me, haha.  you may appreciate this perk than usual 🙂 Anyway, going back to this blog! 🙂

I was already in touch with the Marketing team of SM when I was informed that I do get a chance to write on their card, for valentines day. Yesss! Haha. Not just a card, but a legit installation of a giant valentine card, right smack in the middle of the Food court. Those big hearts in the middle are plywood. ( Claps to their props team really! )

I was given 2 quotes and one whole Saturday to write during mall hours. Then, I started 12:30 and into the afternoon armed with Reeves acrylic, Boysen Acrylic and Craft Central Brushes.First was figuring out how to transfer my draft into a bigger space, all the while thinking if I should eat first, will my colors work together and  more newbie thoughts that came through like landslide. The outline I did by penciling using a 4H pencil. I love the shimmer on Reeves Acrylic in Gold. Good thing I snagged the last one from the bookstore that day too! I sure hoped I was doing this from the backstage but more than the audience and being excited of the project – The thrill of doing the one thing I love to do and sharing it to some of those curious on lookers behind my back, at one of those places where people hangout most, in my province, for Valentine’s Day. What’s not to love right?

It’s also humbling to know that I’ve been given a chance to share my work to an otherwise wider audience. So yes, It’s fun to dream so I will be exploring more the lettering and calligraphy further away. Work extra, gain more. One thing I also learned is to connect more, too. You wouldn’t know how one attempt to reach out can change the course. Yaaay. My card will still be out on the 3F food court until Valetine Week. I think. See it for your own if you can? 🙂
